Overview

What is Contract Manufacturing?

Contract manufacturing — also called toll manufacturing — is a model where an established brand or healthcare company outsources the production of their products to a specialist manufacturer like Nutriley Healthcare. Unlike private label or white label, in contract manufacturing the client typically provides their own proprietary formulation, which we then produce at scale to GMP standards.

This model is ideal for brands that have invested in R&D and own a unique formulation, but do not want to manage the complexities of a manufacturing facility — equipment maintenance, raw material procurement, quality control labs, regulatory compliance, and trained production staff. Nutriley handles all of this, so your team focuses on what it does best: building and selling your brand.

We also offer collaborative contract manufacturing, where our R&D team works with you to co-develop a formulation from scratch — combining your market insight and brand vision with our deep expertise in Ayurvedic, herbal, and nutraceutical science. This co-development approach is increasingly popular among international brands entering the Indian Ayurvedic market.

With GMP and ISO-certified facilities, and manufacturing capabilities across every major dosage form — tablets, capsules, liquids, powders, creams, oils — Nutriley is India's trusted contract manufacturing partner for leading brands including Dabur, Kapiva, Wellbeing Nutrition, and 100+ others. Our 87,120 sq ft facility in Hisar, Haryana provides the scale and flexibility that growing brands demand.

Process

Contract Manufacturing Process — Step by Step

A transparent, documented process from initial enquiry to final product delivery.

1

Technical Discussion & NDA

We begin with a detailed technical discussion to understand your formulation, volumes, dosage form requirements, and timelines. Before any formulation details are shared, we execute a mutual NDA to protect your IP. Our technical team assesses manufacturability and raises any technical questions at this stage.

2

Feasibility Assessment & Quote

Our manufacturing and procurement teams assess raw material availability, production line compatibility, and regulatory requirements for your target markets. We provide a detailed quote covering unit cost at different volumes, lead times, and any one-time setup or tooling costs.

3

Pilot Batch Production

Before full-scale production, we run a pilot batch (typically 100-500 units depending on format). This validates the manufacturing process, confirms sensory parameters match your specifications, and provides material for your internal QC and any required stability studies. You approve the pilot before we proceed.

4

Raw Material Procurement & QC

All raw materials are sourced from our vetted supplier network. Each incoming raw material is tested against your specifications and our internal standards — HPLC, TLC, microbial limits, and heavy metals — before release to production. We can accommodate client-specified raw material vendors where needed.

5

GMP Production & In-Process Controls

Commercial production takes place in our GMP-certified facility under strict SOPs. In-process quality checks occur at every stage — granulation, blending, compression/filling, coating, and packaging. Deviations are documented and reviewed by our QA team before batches are released.

6

Final QC, Documentation & Dispatch

Every batch undergoes finished product testing against your agreed specifications. We prepare a complete documentation pack: Certificate of Analysis, Batch Manufacturing Record, CoC, stability data, and for exports — FDA registration, CE certificate, and country-specific compliance documents. Products are then packed and dispatched as per your logistics requirements.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely. We execute a mutual NDA before any formulation details are shared. Your formulation, ingredient ratios, and process parameters are treated as confidential trade secrets. Access is restricted to only the team members directly involved in your production. We have never had a formulation breach in our operations, and our confidentiality protocols have been audited by Fortune 500 pharma clients.

MOQ for contract manufacturing depends on the dosage form. As a general guide: tablets and capsules from 5,000 units, liquids (syrups, tonics) from 2,000 units, powders and churna from 100 kg, creams and oils from 500 units. Pilot batches (pre-commercial scale) can be as small as 100-500 units depending on format. Contact our team for exact MOQ based on your specific product.

Yes. Our facility is FDA (US) registered, CE certified (Europe), and GMP certified — meeting the requirements for export to major global markets. We have experience exporting Ayurvedic medicines and nutraceuticals to the USA, UK, UAE, Europe, and Southeast Asia. We handle all export documentation including FDA registration copies, CE declarations, Certificate of Analysis, Certificate of Origin, and country-specific labelling compliance.

For clients bringing their own validated formulation, the timeline from contract signing to first commercial shipment is typically 60-90 days (NDA + feasibility + pilot batch + approval + commercial production). For co-development projects starting from concept, add 30-60 days for R&D and formulation development. Rush timelines may be accommodated for established clients on a case-by-case basis.

Yes. Our regulatory team provides support for product registration with CDSCO, AYUSH, and FSSAI for India. For international markets, we assist with documentation preparation for FDA (USA), MHRA (UK), and other regulatory bodies — though the actual registration is the responsibility of the importing entity or your local regulatory consultant. We work closely with established regulatory affairs agencies and can recommend partners in key markets.
